Me, two cousins, my mom, and four aunts, in Ecuador. 2021

Hi. I‘m a multidisciplinary artist based in Providence, RI. Currently, I focus on water-based painting, collage and embroidery from a home studio. My art practice has taken many forms over the years, including youth art mentoring, theater costume sewing, community projects, quilting, painting, printing and creating banners. The creative process and people I work with have always been an inspiring motivator for how I want to work.

After reflecting on previous experiences, I am now placing more value on slowing down in my art practice. I acknowledge that my "art practice" goes beyond just creating artwork. It encompasses intergenerational engagement, slow practice, justice work, caring for the environment, ancestor practices, and personal well-being.

What’s also important in my practice is balancing discipline and play. I want to cultivate feelings of simultaneously knowing exactly what I'm doing with also having no clue what the hell I'm doing. Allowing that space for  new engagements and ideas to occur. I want to create art that avoids burnout, while maintaining a steady flow and minimizing impact on our planet.  Additionally, seek to serve and collaborate with both animals and their human companions.
